The biggest miss on my part was how good Tezzeret, Betrayer of Flesh is. This is something for us to fight Channel lands and etc!
This is a Stifle attached to a massive artifact body. The deck also has a sweet artifact in our new favorite Mirrorshell Crab. Lastly, Disruption Protocol is just a counterspell for us most of the time and that's absolutely nuts. The best part is that it doesn't need to be tapped to sac for card draw so if you're able to leave up mana, you can sacrifice it if somebody tries to remove it. If we need to, we can channel it for a U or play it down like a rock that we can turn into a creature with Tezzeret, Betrayer of Flesh. It's going to serve as a more flexible Ichor Wellspring.
It also doesn't seem like much but I really like Mnemonic Sphere. We haven't had a Springleaf Drum in a minute and Prototype does that for us while also having the ability to channel as a form of removal which is absolutely ABSURD. We brewed this up on stream and wow, did I underestimate a ton of the artifacts and support around artifacts thanks to #MTGNeon. Lastly Ancient Grudge is there for artifacts, for sure but there might be a possibility that this can be used in mirror match.Artifacts aren't just aggressive, there's even a Control version! Tezzeret Control hasn't existed in quite some time. Imagine all you have is red mana while not playing a red deck. Blood Moon is there to drive every player crazy. It has 1 Tormod's Crypt to deal with the Dredge deck to deal with the graveyard-base deck. The sideboard mainly focuses on dealing with creatures as we saw Firespout, Stifle, and Threads of Disloyalty. The rest of the lands are just there to smoothen mana. The lands the deck use are Academy Ruins, Breeding Pool, Flooded Strand, Great Furnace, Miren, the Moaning Well, Polluted Delta, Riptide Laboratory, Steam Vents, and Island only Academy Ruins provide ability to recycle artifacts. It also can be an attacker and beat down opponents.įor counter spells, the signature of the blue mana-base deck the deck offer Spell Snare, Stifle, and Cryptic Command. Vendilion Clique is a card that slows down an opponent depending on what type of deck one's opponent is playing. One prevents from the early stage and the other stop as the game goes on. Pithing Needle and Venser, Shaper Savant is just a card that solves everything. This card locks down both spell-based and creature-based decks. Trinisphere is a card used to slow down the tempo. Even more, the deck uses Vedalken Shackles to reverse the situation. Pyrite Spellbomb and Aether Spellbomb is a card that solves one creature, in the early stage this is good to stop creature-combo deck and/or slow down aggressive decks using creatures to attack their opponent.Įnsnaring Bridge is there to deal with decks that attack you with creatures. Another card that shines is Engineered Explosives since most creatures in this format have similar mana cost this card simply says: destroy all creatures your opponent play for the past few turns.
One of the key cards in this deck is Chalice of the Void using it to call on 0,1,2, or 3 can lock down most cards on every deck. The card drawing in the deck is based on Thirst for Knowledge. The entire deck is based on Trinket Mage and Tezzeret the Seeker to search for the weapon to best go against the opponent.

It was best designed and played by Kenny Öberg as he made his way to the Top 8 in 2008 during Pro Tour Berlin. The deck has been set up to deal with all the popular decks that appear a lot in the Pro Tour. The Tezzerator deck is a control, or rather "lockdown" deck.
